So yeah I may or may not have made my situation worse unknowingly. For whatever reason I thought it was a good idea to delete the account that was banned from Egg_irl and that basically makes me ununbannable, even if they wanted to unban me. That’s not super worrying on its own, I can live with never seeing Genderenvy shit in my Reddit feed again. (I have Twitter for that) and its loaded with minors, also a complaint I have about r\/feminineboys. half the posts are shit like “cAn I bE A feMbOy If—” and 9\/10 times they’re like, 14. Like, I just wanna talk about crossdressing, makeup, and other gnc shit without having porn spammed everywhere. But I also don’t like it when most of the userbase is underage. I’m not even a femboy so it’s not like I have much of an opinion though lol. <\/p>\n
What worries me more is the fact that subreddit temp bans may or may not freeze when you delete your account. This account had a 7-day sitewide on it at the time. I have no idea whether or not I just made my temp ban permanent. The only way to find out is to comment on my main a week from now. <\/p>\n
This whole thing burnt both my temp bans, so depending on what happens here I either get to keep my account or, the ban timer is indeed frozen and all of my accounts end up banned. Maybe it’ll be appealable but I doubt it. Hopefully, it’s the first one. <\/p>\n
I’m probably going to distance myself from Reddit regardless of what happens here. I’m basically being put on a week of forced detox and I can already kind of feel withdrawals when I have nothing to scroll when I look at my phone. I was obviously addicted. My attention span is shot and I can’t bring myself to do anything productive. suspect this will be a good thing for me overall. I still really hate the fact that I might not be able to ask questions on the site for the foreseeable future though. You can view the site when not logged in so I can still search things. <\/p>\n
This has also pushed me to explore more alternatives. I’ve checked out Ycombinator, 4chan, and a few federated alternatives but none have the mass that Reddit does. Eh I’ll manage as long as I can find some people to talk to, irl or otherwise, and it’ll pressure me more to touch grass. Maybe I should actually talk to my boss and ask him about fishing lmao. I have this discount and might as well use it. <\/p>\n
Felt kinda shitty all day today, I think it was related to the potential ban. I’ll probably stop caring in a week. The yoga class was also pretty nice. <\/p>\n
